Konservatorio
Konservatorio is a project that offers insights into the hopes and aspirations of a dedicated group of young people. Focusing on students making the decision to commit to classical music, the photographs give a glimpse into the day-to-day life of a music school.
Lahden Konservatorio is an overlooked jewel in the city of Lahti’s cultural heritage, dating back to the Vyborg College of Music founded in 1918. Over a 10 month period, photographs were made using a large format camera to capture the atmosphere and people of this merited institution of musical education.
The project was shown in its first iteration in a solo show at Galleria Uusi Kipinä, Lahti, in June 2024. The opening of the exhibition included performances from students of the Konservatorio.
